Outfit Du Jour

I apologize for not writing as often as usual for the past ten days. I have been crazy travelling between 3 countries, packing, unpacking, and repacking - my LEAST favourite thing to do! It has been really hectic. I just got back from a fun-filled four day wedding trip to Amman which was filled with events and TONS of outfit changes! Here is how I wore a bright yellow Christian Dior Top to the pre-wedding lunch.  :)

Top: CHRISTIAN DIOR
Shorts: VALENTINO
Shoes: LANVIN
Necklace: ETRO
Ring: LANVIN
Bag: BOTTEGA VENETA

Fabulous Ear Cuffs

Ever since the Punk Themed MET Gala in New York this past May, I knew that punk would be on trend for Fall/Winter! Ear cuffs are especially IN and are a lot of fun to wear. If the cuff is very embellished and large, I suggest only wearing it on one ear and putting a stud in the other or nothing at all (similar to Diane Kruger above). If they are smaller, then one in each ear will look fine. Stray out from your comfort zone and embrace this trend... It's new and would look really great with your hair tied up or in a braid. Enjoy!

Here are a few of my Favourite Picks:

RYAN STORRER Swarovski Crystal Earcuff (Link)

ZARA Rhinestone Earcuff (Link)

GENEVIEVE JONES Yellow Gold Earcuff (Link)
If you are looking for an earcuff that is more subtle and less flamboyant, this one is perfect.
It will make a statement but not a big bang!

Will you be wearing an earcuff this Fall??

4 Days in Saint Tropez

I just got back from 6 really fun weeks in the sun in Europe! I took a mini trip to Saint Tropez on the French Riviera for four days and I thought I'd share my trip with you. While it isn't my MOST favourite summer destination, the shopping is fantastic and the food is delicious! Partying is tons of fun and staying there for a few days is a very well-rounded vacation. You can do a million things in one day - just expect to splurge because everything is super expensive! After all, it IS the destination of choice for the International Jetset and superstars! :)

Here are a few of the highlights of my trip
I absolutely LOVE the beach there!
Super Yachts dot around each of the beaches with their owners stopping by for lunch

Hermes Birkins and Kellys are the bags of choice by most women - in the most exotic of skins.
This mini Kelly is in a size that is extremely hard to find!

Bagatelle is the newest beach to open this year
Their 'Vegetable Platter' is delicious!

EVERTHING is hyper-inflated in Saint Tropez!
This 'Tomato Salad' consists of 2  plainly chopped tomatoes in a bowl
It cost 21 euros (AED 105) -
If I bought them in the supermarket, I could have gotten 10 kgs of tomatoes for the price of 2!

You can find a sheesha EVERYWHERE (at the beach, at the hotel, in bars) -
They are a lot prettier than in the Middle East & a whole lot more expensive!

Shopping is an absolute JOY!
CHANEL & DIOR are housed in cute little villas
Chanel has a swimming pool inside, & Dior has an outdoor cafe

(wutisfashion.com)
The town has local fruit & veggie stalls, designer boutiques, vintage shops, furniture shops and multi-brand stores all stuck together in the narrow streets.
You never know what store you will come across next and its very easy to get lost!

Byblos Hotel - Saint Tropez's oldest boutique hotel
Poolside cocktails before dinner are A MUST for some people & outfit watching!

One of my favourite things to do is have an ice cream or coffee at the port & watch the super yachts docked

At Villa Romana

A Stunning sunset

Have you ever travelled to Saint Tropez?

Get the Look for MUCH less!

Ever since Carrie Bradshaw in Sex & The City introduced us to shoe obsessions, I don't know any woman who doesn't love strappy sandals! They make our legs look long and lean and  immediately help every outfit look better. A woman can NEVER have enough shoes!

I have long been a fan of Aquazzura heels as I find them very comfortable and they are very beautiful on the feet! Every time I wear them, I get tons of compliments! ZARA just released a very similar pair of heels to Aquazzura's famous strappy sandal. They are just as beautiful and ALOT cheaper!

Sexy Summer Soles

(Source: campwander.blogspot.com)

Summer isn't a good time for your feet - especially when you want to show them off in open-toe sandals and flip flops! Feet can swell to up to half a size bigger due to heat and humidity and this causes lots of unattractive problems! Cracked heels, sweaty soles, blisters, and tired and achy feet are all common symptoms. Here is a comprehensive guide to preventing these problems and how to deal with them when they happen.

1) Issue: Dry & Cracked Heels
Dry and Cracked heels are very common in the summer. Most of us opt for lighter footwear like flip-flops and open-backed sandals rather than covered shoes. When they rub around the edge of our heels, they cause dry skin and callouses which build up everyday and get progressively worse if not treated.
Clockwise from Top Left:

Remedy
Buy a pumice stone or foot file and gently file your soles and dry skin after your shower every day. Apply a rich moisturizing cream like E45 cream or any foot cream before bed. Give yourself a mini foot massage if you have time - it helps moisturize and relieve your skin. For long distance walking or hiking, use Compeed Heel Cracks Plasters (Link) - they are amazing!

2) Issue: Sweaty Soles
It's a gazillion degrees out and just as you get sweaty and hot outdoors, so do your feet. Sweaty soles are prone to fungal infections and frictional blisters and can smell!  With this summer's espadrilles trend, I can imagine this is an issue for quite a few of you!

Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder

Remedy
Cool your feet in running cold water several times a day and use a foot powder to absorb excess moisture. If you suffer from smelly soles, use an antibacterial wash as well. Dry them well then sprinkle some Johnson&Johnson baby powder or cooling foot powders in your shoes before you put them on.

3) Issue: Blisters
Blisters are more common in the summer. When feet swell, they rub against your shoes, especially against the thongs of flip flops. This causes blisters on the backs of your heels, on the sides of your feet, and in between your toes.

Remedy
Try to wear shoes that fit well and keep your feet dry to prevent blisters. While it is better to let your blister heel naturally in open air, it's difficult when you are on vacation and moving around alot. Cover it with a skin coloured plaster with medicated gel inside to heal your blister.

4) Issue: Tired & Achy Feet
Flip flips and flat shoes have no structure and barely provide enough arch support. Especially if you are walking in them all day touring cities. By the end of the day, feet are usually tired and swollen and it's difficult to stay standing for long.

Remedy
If you are going to be on your feet all day, wear sneakers rather than open sandals. Put gel support cushions in your shoes and heels to help absorb the shock and protect your feet. If you have time, soak your feet in a hot basin of 1 cup epsom salts and 1 cup of baking soda. Add peppermint oil to cool tired feet or rosemary oil which is anti-fungal.

Most importantly, try to get a regular pedicure to keep your toe nails sexy and in good shape. One of my favourites in Sugar Urban Nails' Sexy Soles Pedicure (Link). I also highly recommend a regular foot massage to relieve the pressure points in your soles. Use a daily foot moisturizer and have fun with your nailpolish!

Do you use any special foot products in summer??

Winter Florals to Wear NOW

(Source: style.com)
Florals on the catwalks
Clockwise from top left:
Lanvin, Givenchy, Christopher Kane, Rochas

Shopping-wise, this is my favourite yet worst time of the year. Fall/Winter collections have started to reach the stores and everything is so fresh, new and exciting. Unfortunately, it is still boiling in the U.A.E and we will continue to wear summer clothes and light materials until December. How boring! Luckily, I found a trend in the Autumn/Winter collections that you can wear as early as NOW  and be on trend with the rest of the world come Fall. Florals! They were all over the catwalks and have trickled down into stores and online websites.

The florals on the catwalks were mostly rich, decadent materials like wool and cashmere and in dark colours like black and navy. However, you can easily adapt this trend to suit the summer heat by wearing them in lighter materials (cotton and silk).

Here are a few of my Floral picks that you can wear even in the hot summer months!

Which item is your favourite??
